King's Gardens, Southport

King's Gardens is a 17 acre garden located in the centre of Southport Town Centre, on the Promenade.

The gardens are a hive of activity all year round and are a busy tourist attraction on the Southport seafront.

In 2012, the gardens were awarded £5.5million from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sefton Council as part of the 'Parks for People Programme.' This prestigious scheme is the largest single investment in parks by the Heritage Lottery Fund in the North West. Over the past 5 years Sefton Council has been working closely with the community and visitors to develop this predominantly community led scheme.

The gardens have been restored to their former glory with Victorian shelters and the Venetian Bridge showcasing the beauty of the park, the gardens have sprung to life with an array of colourful flowerbeds and displays, lovingly maintained by the community. And if you have little ones a visit to the play area is not to be missed, plus throughout the year King's Gardens is host to some brilliant events, including an outdoor cinema.

And if you fancy a coffee and slice of cake, pop over to King's Gardens Tea Rooms, a beautiful vintage tearoom, perfect for a spot of lunch, afternoon tea or an icecream.
